Coronavirus Update: 03.30.2020- Dansko Business Update

Sending on the behalf of Jim: Dansko Team: We are starting our 3rd week of temporary closure and I could not be more proud of how the Dansko team has responded to this extraordinary crisis. From efficiently closing down facilities to transitioning to working from home to maintaining communications and figuring out how to be of assistance to consumers and retailers, everyone has stepped up. Thank you! Unfortunately, the world has changed dramatically over the last two weeks and is likely to continue to do so for the near future. I know everyone would like certainty for what this means for Dansko and for each of us individually. However, as with so many other current circumstances, we cannot count on certainty – we can only plan as best we can and be flexible in responding to ever changing circumstances. I can tell you that we are focusing on two big picture priorities: • How can Dansko support employees as best as we can, while also recognizing that we do not have unlimited reso...

RE: Important information postponing the upcoming retirement plan conversion to Vanguard

Dear Dansko: RE: Important information postponing the upcoming retirement plan conversion to Vanguard We hope you are all safe and enduring these challenging times within the comforts of your home and with your family. We have an important announcement regarding the upcoming retirement plan conversion with Vanguard, and wanted to reach out to all team members today to inform you of the decision to postpone the pending conversion, originally scheduled for April 1, for an approximate period of 90 days .  This decision was made after conversations with management, Vanguard, and our CAPTRUST advisory teams.  Based on these conversations and in light of the unprecedented situation we are all facing, we feel that it is prudent to put a “pause” on the retirement plan transaction. For all of us, there’s been significant change and disruption in our everyday lives. Market volatility, negative economic and health related news, and uncertainty will likely continue and e...

Coronavirus Update: Note From Jim - Monday 03.16.2020 (2:00 pm)-

On behalf of Jim : Dansko Team, While I would prefer to be sharing this with you in person in the showroom, we are all going to have to get used to things not as we would like for a little while. We keep using the word “unprecedented”, because this COVID-19 pandemic is unlike anything we have ever had to deal with in our lifetimes. We will get through this. As a company, we have weathered many significant storms including a major supply disruption, the economic upheaval of the Great Recession, and the continuing transformation of the retail landscape. Many of you have persevered through personal health, family, or other critical challenges. Whether this temporary facility closure takes two weeks or longer, we plan for Dansko to be stronger in two months… and two years… and well into the future. We have said it before, but I want to stress again that being an ESOP is not just about the share price. Being employee-owners in an ESOP is also about taking care of one anoth...

As of this afternoon March 13, 2020, our expectation is that Dansko’s distribution center, company store, and offices will all be open next week. However, we are also making contingency plans in the event that the situation changes so that we can adapt as needed. We recognize that every job has different roles and responsibilities, some of which require physically being at work and some of which can be performed offsite. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we work together to get through this extraordinary situation. People who can currently work from home There is a population of employees that currently have the ability to work from home. We are asking all of these folks to take their laptops home with them this evening and be prepared to work from home. Your manager will work with you to determine an appropriate schedule next week.
