As of this afternoon March 13, 2020, our expectation is that Dansko’s distribution center, company store, and offices will all be open next week. However, we are also making contingency plans in the event that the situation changes so that we can adapt as needed. We recognize that every job has different roles and responsibilities, some of which require physically being at work and some of which can be performed offsite. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we work together to get through this extraordinary situation.

People who can currently work from home
There is a population of employees that currently have the ability to work from home. We are asking all of these folks to take their laptops home with them this evening and be prepared to work from home. Your manager will work with you to determine an appropriate schedule next week.

People who can potentially work from home
There is a population of employees who could potentially work from home but perhaps do not currently have that technical capability. Beginning this morning, we will be identifying folks in these groups to prepare to work from home and to set up/test functionality of their home office so that they can be ready to work from home as needed. Your manager will work with you to determine an appropriate schedule for the rest of today and next week.

People who can only work on site
There is a population of employees who must be on campus to be able to complete their jobs. Again, we expect the facilities to remain open, but we will continue to evaluate and update contingency communications as needed.

We all have different roles and responsibilities at Dansko. There is not a “one size fits all” policy for this unprecedented situation. If you have questions about your specific work schedule or responsibilities, talk to your manager or supervisor. As always, everyone’s personal health and safety is critical. We also need to continue to manage the Dansko business so that we can all navigate these unusual circumstances.

For all employees, we are evaluating contingency compensation and PTO policies to ensure that individuals do not endure undue economic hardships as a result of the COVID-19 situation. We do not have all of the specifics available at this time, but will communicate as needed based on the situation.

Other important updates:

Employees who have symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath need to stay home.
Employees who are sick need to stay home.
Employees who have a family member with symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath need to stay home.

People must be symptom-free without medication for at least 24-hours and confirm with HR before returning to work.

Once again, this is a dynamic and fluid situation. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and dedication.
