Dansko Update 04/29/2021
Return to 33 Federal Road – no earlier than 06/14/2021
There has been no change since April 1, 2021, to the
Pennsylvania guidance regarding onsite work. Dansko continues to develop plans
to transition back into 33 Federal when we can do so safely. While we do not
have a finalized date for this transition to begin, we have set a goal for the
next phase of the transition (see below). This date is fluid, and as we get
additional guidance from the CDC and Pennsylvania Department of Health, this
date may be pushed back as appropriate.
As successful as we have been in working remotely where
possible, we believe there are significant benefits to returning to the office
when it is safe and reasonable to do so. First and foremost, Dansko has had and
will continue to have specific procedures in place to provide a safe working
environment, whether in Five Star, the Company Store, or 33 Federal. We will
continue to follow guidance from the CDC, state and local health officials
regarding these procedures and decisions.
While expectations for returning to the office will vary from
individual to individual or department to department, interacting in person
helps foster relationships and culture, allows for increased collaboration, and
can increase productivity for some roles, among other benefits. At the same
time, flexibility to work from home when and where appropriate is also
important. There is no "one size fits all" answer given different job
responsibilities and equipment requirements.
However, we have been developing a transition plan, and when we
can determine an appropriate date, we will plan on a phased approach.
PHASE 1- No earlier than 6/14/2021
Members of the Product Development/Sourcing, Marketing, Sales,
select Operations, and select Finance/Credit team members will
be scheduled to work select days and hours on campus. The building will remain
locked; however, scheduled employees will have key card access from 7 am-5 pm.
If you are an employee in this group, your manager will work with you on your
specific schedule.
Employees not scheduled to return to campus in Phase 1 will be
scheduled time during this period to access their workspace in preparation for
your return.
PHASE 2 –No earlier than 7/19/2021
This will be a period when we expect to be closer to normal
campus access and working hours.
Departments scheduled to return to campus during phase 2 would include: Credit,
Finance, Buying, IT, and Customer Service. On
campus schedules for all employees will be expanded to include more time on
campus as appropriate.
Please note, while Phase 2 will not begin any earlier than 1
month following Phase 1, it may be pushed out further than a month once Phase 1
commences.
We do not intend to bring anyone back to the office without
reasonable notice. The goal is to provide at least two weeks' notice prior to
returning to the office on any regular schedule.
More Information Coming:
Again, there is no "one size fits all" solution to
this transition. We continue to depend upon the Pennsylvania Health Department
and the CDC for guidance. We also can look to our experiences and learning with
onsite work at 10 Five Star Distribution Center, the Company Store, and the
individuals we have had scheduled into 33 Federal during our current status.
This is only an overview, and we know there will be questions on
specifics that have not been covered. As we have more information and make
further decisions, we'll update as appropriate.
If you have any questions, please see your manager, or contact
Marc Vettori.
