05.21.2020 FAQ from Departmental Meetings

Q: Did Dansko receive a PPP loan?

A: Dansko applied for and received a PPP loan. Dansko will follow the guidelines and requirements that made it eligible to participate in the PPP program.

Q: How long will employees in the DC receive hazard pay?

A: Chester County is currently a Red County by Governor Wolf’s guidelines. As this status is updated, we will evaluate Dansko’s current hazard pay policy.

Q: Has there been any change to Dansko’s Travel Policy?

A: Dansko’s travel policy remains in effect until further notice:
  • Please inform your manager of any personal travel plans.
    • Travel currently defined as more than 50 miles from West Grove, PA
  • Contact HR (Marc Vettori x1154, 484.472.2383, or marc.vettori@dansko.com) WHEN YOU RETURN from your trip.
  • You will not be able to return to the Dansko campus for 14 DAYS after completing any travel.

Q: Can the 14 days away from campus period be PTO, UNPAID, or Worked from Home?

A: The ability to work from home depends on your business unit and manager’s discretion. A combination of PTO and UNPAID time can also be used during this period.

Q: How long will the Travel Policy be in effect?

A: Dansko strives to provide a safe and healthful workplace. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a set timetable for updating the travel policy. Dansko closely monitors the State of Pennsylvania and CDC recommendations and guidelines and will make changes as appropriate.

Q: Do we have a general idea of when Dansko expects to move back to working five days a week?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot provide a set timetable for getting everyone back to full time, and it will differ from job to job and department to department. On a positive note, all 50 states have begun reopening in some way and we are starting to see more marketplace activity requiring workweek increases for certain jobs. Please work closely with your manager regarding changes in your business unit’s needs.

Q: Will there be any flexibility for PTO or UNPAID time away from work for a vacation once we can return to a more normal schedule?

A: Availability for time away from work (PTO or UNPAID) will depend on business need and our ability to provide coverage. Keeping that requirement in mind, our goal is to provide flexibility when it comes to PTO/UNPAID time for the remainder of 2020.

Q: If I exhaust my PTO before the end of the year and have to call out for an illness or a sick child, will I be placed on corrective action?

A: No. While the handbook prescribes that if someone exhausts their PTO bank and takes an additional unscheduled day, the employee may be placed on corrective action for the remainder of 2020, we will not enforce this guideline. However, in the case of excessive calls outs, or if this policy is abused, corrective action may apply.

Q: Is Dansko considering providing more work from home opportunities in the future?

A: Dansko’s philosophy is that we get the best from our teams when we can work together. That said, when we get back to green status, and can safely have everyone return to campus, Dansko will have had the experience of a significant portion of our workforce working from home for an extended period. Depending on the business unit and departmental needs, we will be open to and evaluate our future possibilities.
